Educational Organization Outline
Our president is the general chair of this program and collaborates closely with internal related organizations, external experts’ advisory boards, cooperating industrial/governmental/academic institutions, and external evaluation committees. Internal and external researchers, from domestic and foreign industrial/governmental/academic institutions, are also members of the program faculty.
Approximately 10 high-potential students are selected through an evaluation of their academic scores and an interview process with the president, vice president, and the program leader. Eligible students are either nominated leaders as “Recommended students by the College of Technology” (max 15) when transferring from the College of Technology to Toyohashi Tech, or selected as excellent students from within the College of Technology department, which includes both general students (from other universities or adult applicants) and foreign students.
During the first year of the first half of the doctoral program, students who enter the program design their own study plan in consultation with group educators. The focus is on learning basic knowledge of brain science. Students are required to work towards clear milestones provided by this program, and conduct their research activity according to the plan.
